According to the Fairfax County Times, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova announced to the Virginia General Assembly’s Fairfax delegation that funding for K-12 education is Fairfax County’s top priority for 2018. Fairfax County Public Schools population of students receiving special education services is bigger than the total student population for all but 10 school divisions in Virginia. The school board has asked the General Assembly to find additional funds to support FCPS’s large ESOL, economically disadvantaged, and special education student populations, and to remove the state’s overall cap on funding for support positions.  Read the full Fairfax County Times article here.
